Painting death with pen in Thar

Reports in the media about a virtual famine in Tharparkar and resultant deaths, especially of children due to malnutrition or negligence, and about desperate outward migration of residents have caused widespread concern and prompted governmental, judicial, civil and military responses. Seemingly the situation is over rated and due to big media players even government is reluctant and on back foot to show that the developed scenario misrepresents a substantial part of reality.

I-                    The drought declaration time in Thar is August, but neither government nor media found it serious due to the reason that there was plentiful rainfall in Nagarparkar and scattered, uneven rainfall in other parts of district. (more…)

Contrary to many media reports influenced by Imran-o-Phobia, PTI Jalsa in Hyderabad was a plain failure.

Imran Khan – the emerging Tea Partier of Pakistan- held a public meeting (so-called Tsunami) in Hyderabad on 22 June, 2012 which was not more than a small tide. It ran-over to coast, smashed and died. Here I am writing an eye witness account, because I was present in the SRTC ground where it was held. (more…)

Recent rains played havoc in Sindh

A recent monsoon rain cycle has devastated the whole province of Sindh, Pakistan. Millions of acres of crop is ruined, thousands of villages submerged into the rain water. Government of Sindh appears to be putting ‘extra efforts’ in the relief work in rain affected areas. (more…)
